Mount Simon Park offers a great place for exploring along the banks of the Chippewa River. Eau Claire residents and tourists alike enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing, boating and water skiing. Those who prefer to stay on shore have plenty of choices too, from biking and hiking, running, cycling on numerous trails throughout the area to fine tennis courts and numerous excellent golf courses. On a beautiful day you can obtain a vista of Mount Simon from Half Moon Beach; there's whitewater on Chippewa River for all you thrill seekers. Summer Play 'N Learn in the Mount Simon Park is a fun, interactive time for you and your child! Experience creative learning activities, learn about your child's development and connect with other parents. The canoe and kayak enthusiasts regularly get up to a dozen paddlers for Wednesday night outings in the Eau Claire-Chippewa Falls area. Wednesday paddles rotate among the members’ favorite spots: Eau Claire’s Half Moon Lake and Mount Simon park, the Chippewa River and Brunet Island State Park near Cornell. Playground equipment, pavilions, gazebos, restrooms, picnic tables, grills, lake/water, baseball diamonds, parking, lookouts, boat dock/landing, volleyball, archery, Frisbee golf to feature 9 hole Disc Golf Course, electricity at pavilions, overlooks Dell Pond.
