Located on Dells Pond, you can access this 49-acre park from Madison Street or Birch Street. Mount Simon Park has a boat landing and dock, two pavilions, two lighted sand volleyball courts and a Frisbee nine-hole golf course. Two courses, one in town at Mount Simon City Park, the other just a few miles east of Eau Claire at the Tower Ridge Recreation Area. This is a short course. It makes for a good warm-up though. The course at Mount Simon is ideal for beginners. The course has nine holes and few obstacles. The terrain is also fairly flat which makes walking and playing the course relatively easy. Cement tees were added in 2002. For some reason it's always busy here. There is plenty of parking and restrooms are available.

Mount Simon Park offers a great place for exploring along the banks of the Chippewa River. Eau Claire residents and tourists alike enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing, boating and water skiing. Those who prefer to stay on shore have plenty of choices too, from biking and hiking, running, cycling on numerous trails throughout the area to fine tennis courts and numerous excellent golf courses.

Summer outing in Mt Simon Park is also exciting. On a beautiful day you can obtain a vista of Mount Simon from Half Moon Beach; there's whitewater on Chippewa River for all you thrill seekers. The canoe and kayak enthusiasts regularly get up to a dozen paddlers for Wednesday night outings in the Eau Claire-Chippewa Falls area. Wednesday paddles rotate among the members’ favorite spots: Eau Claire’s Half Moon Lake and Mount Simon park, the Chippewa River and Brunet Island State Park near Cornell.
