Phillips is surrounded by flowages created by logging dams which were rebuilt in the 1930's under WPA. Over 500 miles of snowmobile trails, 70 miles of cross country ski trails and ample public access for hunting and fishing provide great year around recreation.
The Phillips Chain of Lakes; Duroy, ELk, Long & Wilson, with surrounding lakes such as Solberg and Soo, offer fishing at its finest with bass, pan fish, muskie, northern and walleye pike. Additionally, the Phillips WI area is surrounded by lush green forests and is home to 857,000 acres of the Chequamegon National Forest, the Flambeau River State Forest, County and other industrial lands
During summer season mountain bile trails are exceptional. If it’s a quick game of volleyball, softball or golf you will have it.
L.L. Phillips Park is a 76 acre area of outdoor education as well as recreation. Because of the park's diversity, including pine plantation, oxbow lake, Seven Mile Creek, stands of aspen, spruce, and oak, Phillips Park offers a fine educational experience. There is excellent fishing on the lake and and snowmobile trails.
Connors Lake is a clear, spring fed lake perfect for waterskiing, jet skiing, and other water activities. Connors Lake Picnic Area, Campground excellent for winter season - 21 miles west of Phillips on County Road of Turtle Flambeau Flowage. Long sand beach (water is very shallow), boat landing, drinking water, toilets, picnic tables, large picnic & play area, grills, shelter, horseshoes & fishing. There is a day-use fee.

The Wisconsin Concrete Park is an outdoor museum comprised of 237 embellished concrete sculptures and other objects. Park Falls in northern Price County is the headquarters of the 850,000-acre Chequamegon National Forest. At Fred Smith's Wisconsin Concrete Park, alongside a highway in Phillips, a jumbled crowd of over two hundred folk art figurines clog the landscape. It's a park that is eternally crowded with revelers and beer bottles -- if not beer -- abound. The public is invited to wander through this impressive sculptural display.
