Chippewa Cross Country snowmobile trail

Over 248 miles of funded snowmobile trails, as well as many miles of groomed club trails, offer exciting riding. The trail system travels through most of our friendly communities and will connect you with thousands of miles of other Wisconsin trails. Some of the more scenic sections of the trail include the segments from Jim Falls north through the County Forest, from Holcombe to Stanley, and from STH 40 west and north X.

Chippewa Cross Country snowmobile trailLake Wissota is a popular destination for many campgrounds, hiking, biking and snowmobile trials, fine restaurants, and bed and breakfasts. Lake Wissota is located 5 miles east of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin on off of County Road X. Exits for Lake Wissota are also accessible from Highway 29, east of Chippewa Falls.

On the southern end of Chippewa County lies Drummond Island, which provides a spectacular backdrop for hiking and biking in the summer and snowshoeing and skiing in the winter.

There is also an 11 mile horse trail. In the winter 7.5 miles are groomed for cross-country skiing. In fact, the park sponsors two candle light skis; one in January and the other in February. Snowshoeing is also permitted in the park, except on the groomed trails. There are 4.75 miles of snowmobile trails connecting with the county's elaborate snowmobile trail system of more than 150 miles.

Ice Age Trail of Northern Chippewa County is approximately two miles east of the intersections of State Highway 40 and County Road M.
