The Winter Carnival’s popularity peaked in the late 1960s when the event grew from a one day ice fishing tournament to a full week of activities, complete with awards given for most participation points, beard growing and of course carnival royalty awards. Among the activites were the kissing salon, tricycle races, snowman building, pipe smoking and an ice cream licking contest. Internationally known artists were also invited to play at the event and acts such as the Kids Next Door and the Serendipity Singers performed over the years.

University Activities Commission bring Winter celebrations to campus! Join the Festivals Committee and help to plan, organize and publicize the campus-wide festivals that bring people together -- Homecoming, Winter Carnival and Springfest.
