Gordy's County Market in Eau Claire, WI

Gordy’s County Market was established in 1966 on the south side of Chippewa Falls, WI by Gordy and Donna Mae Schafer.  The Schafer Family wanted to meet the grocery needs of the people of the Chippewa Valley with fresh products, low prices, and, of course, friendly service.  He succeeded!  Forty plus years later, Gordy’s County Market has six locations, four in the immediate Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire area, and stores in both Cornell and Ladysmith, WI. To date, Gordy’s County Market remains the longest locally owned and operated grocery store in the Chippewa Valley.

In 2007 Gordy’s County Market built its first Express Gas Station at the Birch Street Gordy’s County Market Grocery Store.  Since then, locations have been added at the downtown Chippewa Falls store, the Lake Wissota store, the Hamilton Avenue store, and Gordy’s is considering a gas station in Ladysmith as well. The birth of the “pump perks” program was the first of its kind in the Chippewa Valley and has allowed us to give customers a reduced price for gas simply for shopping at Gordy’s County Market.

We are excited to be meeting the needs of our customers in both the grocery and auto fuel business. We are encouraged by expansion around our stores. The new Highway 53 Bypass east of the Birch Street store also runs behind our new Hamilton Avenue store as well, giving us improved visibility and easy access by customers. We look forward to many more great years providing the Chippewa Valley with their grocery and gas needs.  We thank you for allowing Gordy’s County Market and Express Gas to serve you.
