19th century scholar Frank Maron, classically educated in his native Germany, saw the need for a practical alternative to the traditional university. In 1885, he responded by establishing Globe College, one of Minnesota’s first business schools.

Over the next century, Mr. Maron’s business college evolved. Since 2007, it has been known as Globe University. Today the school grants master’s, bachelor’s and associate degrees as well as technical diplomas and certificates. Degree programs prepare students for careers in business and accounting—as well as in medical assisting, veterinary technology, information technology, paralegal services, multimedia and other contemporary professions.

Globe University, working closely with Minnesota School of Business, serves US and international students at campus locations throughout the Midwest. Its robust online division provides access to students worldwide. The schools, owned by the Terry and Kaye Myhre family, hold to Frank Maron’s original commitment—providing broad access to higher education and the empowerment that follows.
