Their fantastic All Things Local section is filled with books from popular local authors like Michael Perry and Cathy Sultan, as well as books to make your garden grow, plan a weekend getaway, or revisit the heyday of the logging industry in the Chippewa Valley. In addition, They're proud to be the hometown of Justin Vernon, who is enjoying great success on the national and international music scenes with his new band, Bon Iver. Their neo-soul CD, For Emma, Forever Ago, has been featured several times in Entertainment Weekly, most recently as one of eight "most promising male singer-songwriters" (May 16, 2008). Back when Justin was a Memorial High School student and a recent graduate, he played in Borders' cafe both with his band, Mount Vernon, and as a solo act. They wish him much success!
